Good afternoon everyone,

Registration is now open at this link for our free May 22 workshop. We hope you’ll consider sending one or more members of your staff to participate in this interactive and informative event:

Bi-State Complete Streets Workshop
Tuesday, May 22, 2018
Rock Island Public Library
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM CDT

Why Complete Streets?

Increased safety: More than 40% of pedestrian fatalities occur where there is no available crosswalk.

Improved health: People in walkable neighborhoods get more exercise, which has a number of benefits. For example, women who walk or bike just 30 minutes a day have a lower risk of breast cancer.

Economic resilience: Investments in streetscapes have been linked to growth in adjacent retail sales, increased tax revenue, new business creation, and attracting and retaining a younger workforce.

Long-term cost savings: The Department of Transportation has determined a Complete Streets process can save an average of 30% in reduced scope, schedule, and budget changes when rehabilitating highways that serve as small town Main Streets.

Join us to learn more about different types of Complete Streets initiatives, how they can benefit residents, businesses, and communities, and what resources are available to help you find the project that fits your community. Learn more about the event at the registration page.

Thank you!
