About the QCBC
Mission Statement
The QCBC has 743 memberships including 1210 members from 28 states and 2 countries as of December, 2008. 85% of our members live in Iowa and Illinois.
A 13 member Board of Directors including 4 Officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and 9 Directors governs the QCBC. The Board meets each month from September through May on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm at the Bettendorf Public Library. The Board is responsible for achieving QCBC goals while managing an annual budget. The QCBC is exempt from federal income tax as a 501c (7) corporation. It is incorporated as a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Iowa with a December 1 through November 30 fiscal year. It operates in accordance with bylaws adopted in September 1987 and as amended.
The QCBC has Budget and Community Service committees that develop and propose the club's annual operating and community service budgets respectively. It also has a Nominating Committee to nominate Officers and Directors.
The QCBC holds annual meetings in March and October for all members. These meetings include a short Board meeting followed by a planned program and refreshments. The election of club officers is held at the beginning of the October meeting. We also hold our Annual Dinner in November that is open to all members.
The QCBC publishes an annual membership directory, a monthly ride schedule and a monthly newsletter for its members entitled Pedalwheeling. It also has a public web site, http://qcbc.org.
