Recycle Your Bicycle for LeClaire’s Bicycles on Parade
Chicago had its Cows on Parade a few years back. LeClaire will have Bicycles on Parade this summer to salute RAGBRAI and the Quad Cities bicycling community and activities.
The LeClaire Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations of 100 bicycles by April 30, 2008. The bicycles may be in any condition and will be painted and decorated to be placed as art along Cody Road in downtown LeClaire to greet summer visitors in general and RAGBRAI riders specifically. The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RRAGBRAI) will end in LeClaire on Saturday, July 26, 2008.
Donated bicycles may be dropped off in the fenced area of LeClaire Public Works anytime 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The public works facility is located on Iowa Drive, which is behind the Mississippi Valley Welcome Center.
