QCBC Road Racing 2018

The QCBC is offering road racing for the first time in many years. This years' events will be 4 races of different types, over different locations. These races are fun and an exciting opportunity to test yourself against other riders. We hope you'll come out and support club racing.

April 19- Campbell's Island- A Criterium style race of 12 laps of 1.9 miles. A & B categories. Start/finish at the Monument river side of the island. Parking at Empire park.

May 17- Industrial Park- 47th St. & Indian Bluff Rd., Moline- near Group O- This is an elimination race based on the kind seen in track racing. Riders will do 10 laps and after that the last person crossing the finish line on each successive lap will be eliminated. Course is .97 mile and flat. Meet at Group O lot.

Eleven riders completed 10 laps (about 10 miles) and then on each successive lap the last rider was eliminated.Contestants included; Dan Austin, Joe Buikema, Leona Carlough, Karl Jahns, Liz Jensen, Rick Rohret, Travis Surridge, Nikki Thomsen, Dave Thompson, Austen Willhite and Shay Wright.

June 21- Hubbard Rd./ I-80 frontage Rd.- 5 laps of 5.2 mile course. One partial lap: total mileage: 25.3 miles. Finish will be a top of small steep climb. Rolling hills and technical corners. Parking at Wildwood Baptist Church on Hubbard Rd, or ride up from Empire Park.

July 19- Adventurequest Senior Olympics course- 3 laps of 7.6 mile course. One partial lap; Total mileage: 21.9 miles. Finish will be at the top of the .5 mile climb of Frieden's Rd. Rolling hills and one big climb per lap. Parking along road in front of Adventurequest in Rapids City or in Schuler's Shady Grove along river and ride up.

Registration 5:15-5:45pm. Races start at 6:00.
There is no cost for QCBC members with a current paid up membership.
Non-members- $5.00

In the event of rain or severe weather the event will be held on the following Thursday evening at the same time.

QCBC Time Trial Series 2018

The 2018 time trial series will begin in June. This years' events will be 3 races of different lengths, in different locations. These races are excellent training for Tri-athletes or anyone into time trial racing.

May 8th - 20K TT. Starting at Reynolds Legion Park, Reynolds, IL. Registration 5:45-6:15pm. First rider at 6:30pm. Course is circular on most flat ground with some rolling hills.

The temps were great but the wind was howling. Six men and one exceptionally fast woman took part in this 20k event.

July 10th - 30K TT. Starting on Barstow Rd, Barstow, IL. Registration 5:45-6- 15pm. First rider at 6:30pm. Course is out and back on flat ground.

There is no cost for QCBC members with a current paid up membership.
